Went with friend who loves Toby for breakfast, not much choice and had to wait a while for things to be replenished so good on plate wasn't very hot when I got back to table.

My girlfriend and I both had turkey and beef and portions of meat were appalling about a fork full for each meat. I've put a complaint in at Toby Darlington. We were not the only one's to be unhappy with the tiny portions. Please stop being so greedy Toby carvery. People go elsewhere.

I am usually always going with my nanna.
Lady serving us today and last week was very rude, forgetful and seemed to not care about being there.
First she messed up order on two simple drinks. Then she ignored us when I mentioned about her Burnt pudding, Sticky toffee pudding.
Then when asked for bill she then had a distasteful attitude and we waited 10 minutes for a bill. When she returned she was quite ignorant and rude.
Usually the people serving in there are very polite and courteous.
Debating not returning because of todays experience. My Nan and I been coming here for a few years and service if by this ladies standards are well below par.
Sad to see as everyone in there is usually amazing 👏

The food was lovely, it was very busy which is completely understandable and the lady at front of house was very professional and polite. The one thing I have to mention is the woman at the bar. She had thin, long blonde hair, glasses, she was wearing grey jeans, a black top and little dolly shoes. She is very clearly a racist. I'm white land my partner is black. We went to the bar as we had a long wait, she ignored her for 15 minutes before we gave up and just turned around back at the dining room. A few moments later 3 different people came to the bar she immediately asked them what they would like and began to serve. So my wife turned back around to be served. After she finished serving the others, she avoided eye contact and decided to empty the dishwasher. My wife turned to me and said you try... so I turned around and she came straight to me and asked what could she get for me, I immediately looked at my wife and said there you go! My wife started asking for what she wanted, the waitress rudely said "what?" Never making her eye contact. You could clearly see she was pissed off to have to serve my wife and not me. My wife then proceeded to give my order and the waitress turns back to me to ask if I wanted a glass etc even though my wife was the one doing the ordering. We stayed as we had already waited 20 minutes to be seated. That didn't bother us, this waitress however did. I truly hope something will be done and I hear back from you. This behaviour cannot be accepted in 2025.

First time at this toby carvery as the one at wolviston is under refurbishment but more than pleased with the food quality and service. Will use it again.

The staff there are lovely, the food is ok but the mash definitely tastes and smells like it's reconstituted. Not the cheapest but good value , as always it's the staff that make it 4/5.

Called in on spec on our way up North. Advised there was a half hour wait, but 5 minutes later we were being seated! Delighted! Service was really friendly and helpful and the carvery was sooo good 😋

The staff and the manager on Sunday Afternoon on January 26th 2025 were shocking rude arrogant disrespectful behaviour from them all. I know customers can be a pain in the arse, but there is no reason for a server to be walking down the restaurant swearing and mourning about a customer. My experience on this day was not a good one. We report next to the bar and the coat rack So had people falling over us at the bar while waiting for a table and people trying To recover their coats And we had hardly put our knives and forks down when the manager Whisked our plates away and Gave us the bill when we Had not even asked for it. We felt like cattle in a cattle market getting turned round as fast as possible.

Food was perfect only gripe was that they were running out of meat again which happened last time we were in, but we did manage to get our choice
